What You Need To Understand about Keyword Stuffing & Keyword Cloaking

General
The Search Engines are not stupid. Irrelevant keywords are not going to help your search engine rankings. Nor is the practice of showing one page view to website visitors and another to the search engines going to help you. In fact you may find yourself banned.
What You Need To Understand about Keyword Stuffing & Keyword Cloaking

I have seen keyword stuffing and keyword cloaking done to often by marketing companies not having their clients best interest in mind. Here is what you need to know about these top two BAD SEO PRACTICES.

Keyword Stuffing:

Repeating the same keywords over and over again not because they are useful in the text but because you are supposed to optimize your copy, is a very bad SEO practice.

Not only will it discourage your visitors from interacting or reading the content but it is also a signal for search engines that you are trying to manipulate (trick) their algorithms.

Focus on creating useful, information-rich content that uses keywords appropriately and in context.

Keyword Clocking:

Here's how Google defines cloaking in the Google Webmaster FAQ

The term "cloaking" is used to describe a website that returns altered webpages to search engines crawling the site. In other words, the web server is programmed to return different content to Google than it returns to regular users, usually in an attempt to distort search engine rankings. This can mislead users about what they'll find when they click on a search result. To preserve the accuracy and quality of our search results, Google may permanently ban from our index any sites or site authors that engage in cloaking to distort their search rankings.
